95 point new release A fantastic new Cabernet from Paso Robles! Wine Enthusiast #10 Wine of 2019! 95 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This bottling remains as impressive and delicious as it did upon debut two vintages ago. Aromas of black cherry, hickory smoke and vanilla cookie lead into a palate of brown sugar, sea salt, caramel and black-cherry foam, all framed by polished tannins and just enough acidity." Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon stems from an endless fascination with the soils and diverse sub-regions of Paso Robles, where exceptional wines are being made. It also tells the story of the Hope family’s long history in the region and how their pride and knowledge can be brought to life in a bottle of wine. Deep ruby in color, the 2018 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon expresses intense fragrances of black currants, ripe black cherries and blackberries with subtle notes of violets, mocha and dried spices. It’s a big, powerful, modern-styled wine with velvety tannins and heaps of juicy blackberry and cherry fruit, while nuances of cedar, clove and vanilla bean round out the long, smooth finish. It’s full bodied, rich and balanced by fresh acidity with a firm, polished tannin structure.

A very delicious, smooth, fruity wine. Paired great with steak and a good friend! Though a little pricey for me I would buy this again.

I love Paso Robles wines that are accessible early as is this Cab! Presents with dark berries, cassis, dark chocolate, espresso, mild tar, black licorice, wet soil and violets. Style is extracted, oak a bit heavy (which I expected) overall a nice Cab..scored a decent price!

Powerful fruit, but balanced and elegant. Impressive for such a young cab. Great example of the excellence of Paso wines. Not exactly a steal though.

Had this with some beef. Overall I felt it was a bit boring with a bitter aftertaste. Didn’t really open up in to anything. Was basically a consistent flavor but not worth the $60 price. Bummer.
