97+ points Limited new Cabernet from Aperture. a great up-and-coming label from Sonoma's Alexander Valley. Limited. 97 Points Robert Parker: "The Aperture Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio Vineyard was matured for 22 months in 100% new French oak. It has pure, layered scents of cassis, blueberries, milk chocolate, lilac, aniseed and conifer. The medium-bodied palate boasts a deep well of spicy fruit underpinned by iron-like tones. It has a seamless structure, offering an ideal balance of fresh acidity and cashmere-textured tannins, and a very long finish with a flourish of spice and floral perfume. This will be long lived in bottle! 390 cases were made." Winemaker Jesse Katz has worked with Bob Foley at Hourglass and at Screaming Eagle, working alongside renowned winemaker Andy Erickson.
