Aperture Alexander Valley Red Blend 2018

$54.99

Fantastic new discovery!                 Awesome new discovery alert!  This is a great up-and-coming label from Sonoma's Alexander Valley - we highly recommend getting on the Aperture Bandwagon now. 96+ Points Robert Parker: "The 2018 Red Blend is composed of 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 22% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The nose offers vibrant berry scents with accents of charcuterie, mint chocolate, cigar wrapper, violets and pencil shavings aromas, and the palate is powerful but featherweight, silky and fresh with a very long, layered finish. I love this balance of ripe fruit, mineral nuance, aromatic purity and structural power. This has the potential to grow into even more of a beauty with some time in bottle." Winemaker Jesse Katz has worked with Bob Foley at Hourglass and at Screaming Eagle, working alongside renowned winemaker Andy Erickson. As winemaker for both Lancaster Estate and Roth Estate, Jesse brought to bear his handcrafted style of terroir driven winemaking in producing their most highly acclaimed wines.  In addition to making all wines at Aperture Cellars, Jesse also produces the 100% allocated wines for his cult brand, Devil Proof Vineyards.
