New Pinot Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up and coming labels and sourced from the famous Gary's Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. 94 Point Robert Parker: "From a vintage that had big yields and heavy cluster weights (harvest started mid-September and finished late in October), the Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard (saw 11 months in 50% new oak) is a stunner that's up with the creme de la creme of the vintage. Forest floor, strawberries, plums, earth and underbrush all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, elegant and silky Pinot Noir that has fine tannin, no hard edges and impeccable balance. It's another terrific wine from winemaker Andrew Vingiello....Winemaker Andrew Vingiello continues to make a bevy of brilliant wines. They’re always packed with fruit, yet never lose typicity or soul. All of these Pinot Noirs were mostly destemmed (a few have 25% whole cluster) and aged in French oak barrels, with an average of 50% new." A.P. Vin is a small-production winery based in San Francisco. Winemaker/owner Andrew P. Vingiello started the company in 2003 and made it his full-time gig in 2005. The wines he makes are single-vineyard Pinot Noir from some of the best sites in California like this limited Rosella's Vineyard release from the Santa Lucia Highlands.

Never fails to deliver. For $52 these single vineyard pinots from APV are hard to beat in the value department.

The last of 3 pinot bottlings tonight and easily the biggest and brawniest. Youthful and bold, just a massive fruit attack. Loved it.
