San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 Wines of 2012! The new chapter from Tuscany's legendary Piero Antinori's Atlas Peak project has found its footing with a distinctive Antica Napa Cabernet. 94 Points Robert Parker: "A beautifully elegant, stylish Cabernet Sauvignon from the Antinori outpost in Napa Valley, their 2013 has a dense ruby/purple color, a beautiful, sweet kiss of pure blackcurrant fruit, licorice and forest floor. Full-bodied, but with creamy texture, sweet, beautifully integrated acidity, tannin and alcohol, this is an impressively well-crafted wine that’s drinkable now, but should evolve nicely for another 15-20 years."

My first American Antinori, the name of the wine is the combination of the the words Antinori and California. This CS from the lovely 2012 vintage is delicious and elegant. It has a deep purple color, lovely aromas of black current, blueberries, spice, mint, chocolate and cherries, full elegant body, with smooth round tannins, lively balanced acidity and a long pleasant finish. Elegant, well crafted and surprisingly approachable and enjoyable despite the young age. My score 88, drink to 2022

Fom the Antinori Atlas Peak estate. 1800 feet ( 500 m.) altitude. Obvious wood and earthy flavours tend to overwhelm the fruit. Good fruit in the mouth, not the most elegant wine but with a certain rustic charm. 2012 vintage. Abv. 14,1%.

Black cherry and blueberry, sage, cedar and loam, with a tinge of smoke and 72% cacao. Tight and compact. Has an old school, mountain feel too it.

yeah... Antinori knows what they're doing. clearly. Set up shop halfway across the world and nailed it again. Deep black cherry on the nose, integrated oak in the palate. Big and plentiful. Delicious!
