Andrew Will Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

$34.95

Andrew Will is one of Washington States finest wineries. We highly recommend this Cabernet. Robert Parker:  "Readers looking for classic, age-worthy Washington state Bordeaux blends need look no further than this terrific estate. As always, they release a few appellation blends (Esploso and Sorella) and numerous single vineyard wines (Champoux, Ciel du Cheval, Mays’ and Two Blondes). The wines show singular characters and have broad drink windows." 93 Points James Suckling: "Pretty blackberry and blueberry aromas with black licorice. A full body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Integrated and tight. Needs two or three years to come together. Better in 2020." 92 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Blueberry, violets, blood orange, and candied orange peel all emerge from the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. It's beautifully pure, fresh, and elegant, yet also has terrific concentration and depth. It's just another balanced, beautiful wine from this estate." 92 Points Robert Parker: "Offering up notes of minty cassis, blackberries and cigar smoke, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with beautifully fine-grained tannins and a deep core of fruit. While it's already generous and expressive, it's a touch more tight-knit at the core and richly structured than the corresponding Merlot."

Nice, drinkable Cab. Somewhat linear and not complex, but good nonetheless. Nose offers notes of cassis, blackberry, and oak. Palate is medium body with dark fruit and a bit of cigar smoke. 2016 vintage on Aug 25, 2018

Andrew will cellars vashon Washington 2016 cabernet. Deep purple color. Nose: Kalamata olives, raisin, stewed tomatoes and black currant, pepper, thyme. Taste: definitely needs an hour of decanting. Very tannic and a bit more dryness rather than the depth of berry and plum fruitiness I typically get on a cab. All high notes mostly. Sour cherry and sour plum. Could use a few years in the cellar.

Good Cab, full body without being overbearing in terms of fruit.
