98 Points Limited new Cabernet from Anakota. 98 Points Robert Parker: "A barrel sample, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Montana Vineyard bursts forth from the glass with vibrant crushed black currants, black cherries and wild blueberries with hints of espresso, sage, dark chocolate and anise plus a waft of violets. Medium-bodied with taut, tightly wound muscular fruit, the palate features a rock-solid structure of firm, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long and layered. 950 cases will be produced." Anakota is made by master winemaker Pierre Seillan, who is the genius behind the Bordeaux-inspired blends at Verité. His Verité wines have received seven perfect 100 point scores from Robert Parker, more than any other Sonoma winery. Anakota, focuses on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from single-vineyards in Sonoma's Knights Valley (home to cult producer Peter Michael).

Solid core, somewhat muted scent and typical cab flavors giving damp earth, cassis and nutmeg like bitters. I don't see the 96RP rating here but nevertheless a well made wine.

My first experience here. Lovely wine. It took some time to open, but the wait was worth it. A muted nose gave way to some florals and the palate is drive by blackberry jam, then some briny olive and peppercorn Really cool. Medium acidity and dark purple hue. Not a long finish but we’ll rounded and time will be it’s friend 93pts now, and i would guess it could reach 94-96 in time

Dry red. Strikes me as earthy, and clear taste of the wood. The fruit isn't coming out but it's so full the taste stays with you. I've never had a wine that I savored as slowly.
