Gripping, ripe blue and black fruit. Coolly refined, balanced with warm edges of rustic underbrush. Kalamata Olive, smoke, blood, gravel. At this price point, this was better than some Northern Rhone I've had and yet it does not abandon its sense of place. Serious wine.

Vintage after vintage Arnot-Roberts hits it out of the park. Closest thing to Northern Rhône you'll find outside of France, which makes its low $30s price quite the bargain. The 2013 is ready drinking well, but certainly has the acid and structure to last for a decade or more.

High acid, low fruitiness which is atypical for Syrahs but it is North Coast so cool climate Syrah. Which makes it food friendly. I paired this with short ribs and it didn't quite hold up, but my wife paired with a vegetarian dish and she loved it. It developed nicely in the glass. $70 menu price.

So expensive for whats in the bottle. It is well made, but fuck me this comes nowhere close to big boys. Should be a second label and much cheaper. I love these guys, but how in the hell is this a 9.6 wine?!

Ripe black fruit, blackstrap molasses, dark compost, maple, black pepper, Turkish spice, dry leather; all elegance on the palate, w/ iron minerality and fresh acid. Has me like
