Dauvissat perfection. 2012 Preuses is in an amazing spot, riveting, chiseled, textural and pure with classic Chablisen oyster shell minerality in a tidal wave of spiced orchard fruit, lilies and the slightest nutty edge. It’s incredibly silky on the palate showing killer density without weight. Lasers of racy citrusy acids and a long saline finish round it out. Fabulous showing.

Willi’s Wine Bar in Paris. Medium gold color. Heavy in the glass. There’s a reductive thing in the nose at the start. We have it put in a decanter and with 30-60 min of air this blows off to reveal notes of apricot, stone, white flowers, white clay and some honey. Becomes very rich at the end of the evening with wonderful acidity and structure. Last sip was the best.

This is wonderful. Concentrated and lean with a crazy nose. Oyster shells, minerality, salinity. Deep fruit but quite precise and delicate. A hint of sandalwood. Great now and life ahead.
