Another great Cabernet from Tor. A little cigar box with a lot of deep blue fruit - only one barrel made. It was very, very enjoyable.

Tor’s entry Cabernet is a cuvée from their single vineyard sites (mainly Cimarossa mixed with To Kalon, Melanson, Herb Lamb, Tierra Roja and Vine Hill Ranch). The nose offers up leather, cinnamon and blueberry. Fruit-forward on the entry, cherry and blackberry flavors dominate with hints of spice on the finish. The wine is medium to medium/full-bodied - definitely lighter bodied than most Tor Wines I’ve enjoyed. Despite its youthfulness, it is drinking well - though I would suggest opening at least an hour before consuming.

Wonderful wine. I tried it at their tasting room in 2018 and bought 3 bottles along with some other Tor cabs. I opened a bottle 2 years later and enjoyed it. Friends at my local wine shop were very impressed. I am now opening up a 2nd bottle, which is now 9 years old. It is even better than I remember. The nose is flush with dark fruit especially dark cherries. The palate is dark cherries, blackberries with a hint of anise, chocolate, and leather. It paired well with a choice hanger steak. It also paired well with some Godiva chocolate lava cake truffles. I look forward to opening the 3rd bottle some time in the future and a single vineyard cab.

Nice red fruits. Some good acidity and early after pop n pour there was a biting aftertaste but thankfully that blew off with airtime in the glass. Evolved throughout dinner and held up incredibly well to some prime ribeye and porterhouse steaks to balance their richness.

Great restaurant, great meal, great wine. Valentines Day made special at RH Yountville. The ambiance is special and the Tor is well structured, balanced with red fruit flavors. Soft tannins and lingers.
