This is the 2019 Tiberio Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. 100% Montepulciano. On the nose I am finding cherry, red plum, cranberry, violets, oregano, herbs and tar. On the palate is cherry, cranberry, raspberry, boysenberry, spice, crushed stone and minerality. This wine is medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidityand medium + firm chalky tannins leading to a long red & black fruit crushed gravel finish. Silky purple. Fruity but also savory and earthy. Great energy, sweet cherry fruit coming to the fore with time. Deft sweetness; but firm tannins and some bitterness on the finish make this hard at the moment.
