Holy fruit, Batman! All the black and blue fruit, licorice, spice you could cram in a bottle. Weighty, viscous and big, but pretty well balanced for its scale. Nice example of the style.

Blackberry jam. Flashbacks to my first trimester when all I could eat was toast and jam for weeks. This is a crazy juicy wine, gotta have some residual sugar but it is balanced by nice acidity.

Full throttle SBC Syrah, with enough acidity to keep it from being flat or flabby. Big, juicy, liquid black fruit.

I’ve always been a fan of Tensley, especially their Colson Canyon, as well the other projects that Joey is involved in... that said, this wine is flawed. The volatile acidity is just too much. At times it’s fleeting only to be on blast in the next sip. Not sure if it’s uniform, but I suspect it would also cause a fair amount of bottle variation, so I’ll be trying this again.

Really nice Syrah! Found at our local wine bar and we really enjoy. A little smoke, a little jam, and easy drinking

When I last had this 3 months ago, I described it as a fruit bomb with very faint effervescence. I said it would do well with a good food pairing. I'm pleased to report that, indeed, a hearty beef stew with all its unctuous qualities derived from layers and layers of flavors, went quite well. The note itself remains unchanged.
