Pretty similar to the 2011, slightly wider rim. Denser slightly more medicinal nose , again quite closed , touch more herbaceous. Sweeter maybe touch balsamic dark fruits . On the palate quite ripe and robust , touch more alcohol noticeable . Quite noticeable acidity , tannin quite marked also , slightly severe finish. Quite sweet ripe darker fruit . Needs a bit more time or food, though it won’t be the most refined vintage, now and for the next 5-10 years

Great nose! Mocca, red berries, black berries. Almond paste and sandelwood. In the mouth the red berries dominate the black so there is enough acidity. No need to rush!

I could not wait to try this wine after I opened it. It has luscious aromas of fresh red fruits and a hint of cedar to me. The drinks amazingly well. Smooth and luscious. Dark fruits with tobacco and cedar highlights will linger in your mouth as this finishes nicely. This is a super glass of wine. Not an everyday one because of the price but well worth a splurge.
