Sipping Fine Wine Delectable Pro

Oldest in the Penfolds portfolio, Wine includes fruit from Barossa, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Adelaide and Wrattonbully vineyards. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits and sweet spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, plum and dried cherry flavors with cacao, espresso and vanilla oak. Vivid acidity, rich ripe fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and a kick of spice, nice! Good value with aging potential.

Trying the ‘15 vintage. Nicely matured now, beautiful Syrah, still fruit forward, with beautiful cassis notes. Rating affirmed 10/2/20. Good wine, but not getting close to the magic of the earlier vintages. Need to check into newer vintages to see where we’re headed.

Fine, but still needs to mature the tannins.

Deep red color. Aromas of violets, crushed stone, toasted eucalyptus and red berries. Dark cherry fruit on the pallet with hints of earth, coffee, grilled herbs and spices. Touch of toasted almond and firm tannins on the finish. Fresh and lively. Well balanced with nice symmetry. Though rich and full bodied, there is also an elegance to this wine.

Full bodied yet very fresh and crisp. Bramble and ink. Crushed rocks and blueberry jam (without being jammy). Tannin integrated. Medium long finish. Ready to rock.

Dark and rich, very smooth, dry and light on tannins; starts with bold aroma like it will be in-your-face.
