First encounter with Romorantin. Was expecting something Sancerre-like and got something completely different—herbs, brown spices (cloves), elderflower, flinty, savory, smokey (reduction or characteristic of the variety / vineyard?), apple, pear. Sherryesque quality (can something be reductive and oxidative at the same time? Probably not). Full bodied like its cousin, Chardonnay. Was customer favorite at the store tasting tonight. Certainly interesting, but not sure if it’s my jam.
