Just beginning to get to the drinkable age with tannins starting to soften and mellow. The wine is still quite rigid though the balance has come back into play. BlackBerry and plums finish with green bell peppers and spicy peppercorns. Five more years and it’ll be great.

Pop and pour sampler before decanting ahead of Duke/UNC. Amazing. Plum, silky, subdued fruit but just right. Slightly tannic, decanting for a couple hours and expecting an insane wine. Trying side by side with 2013 Moon Tsai which I loved last weekend. Insignia makes that seem like an unfocused fruit bomb.

OMG! this is a wine built to age well. Delicious now. BUT. give this wine time and it may be one of the best Insignias yet!
