One of the days wines was this 2016 Groth Oakville Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, cassis, tar, cedar, vanilla and earth. On the palate I have black cherry, blackberry, plum, cassis, black currant, clove, spice, vanilla and earth. The wine is full bodied vibrant mouthfeel with medium + acidity and medium + fine grippy tannins that move into a wonderful long black fruit spicy finish. Have a great week ahead and please be safe and healthy. Nostrovia!

Great with a backyard steak. Medium bodied. Very drinkable now... but I’ve had some that do bring on added dimensions when put away. Nose was soft, but hard to compete with the outdoors.

Tannins initially mask the fruit but it relaxed after several days. Best to hold for a few more years, or if you have to drink give it an aggressive decant and let it sit for an hour or so

Nice tannins, long finish with dark fruit. Slight oak on front, spicy on finish with slight graphite/pencil lead. The tannins are special.

Takes a little time to open up. A lot of cherry up front. Lacking some body.
