This Napa Merlot is always enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing black fruits with chocolates, earth, wood, vanilla, vegetables, dark coffee, herbs, tobacco leaf, spices and peppercorn. Full bodied and bold with medium plus acidity and long legs. Nice fruity finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. Needs an hour to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle. Needs a few years in the bottle to mature and remove some of bitterness at the ending. 14.7% alcohol by volume. 91 points
