This is a scrumptious Amarone! Aromas of toasted chestnuts and warm coffee beans on the nose, reminded me of buying roasted chestnuts from the smoking barrels of the street vendors during Christmas time in Paris when I was young. Some black fruit, baking spice, and dark chocolate on the palate as well. The tannins are so smooth yet very present, and although there is 16.5 alcohol, is is well integrated and balanced. It is not overly sweet and would pair nicely with roasted meats and hearty vegetables. This one is not just for dessert!

Thanksgiving day wine made more delicious with the company. Strong cherry and fig notes with a finish that tastes like chocolate.

Aromatics are muted. Dried berries with savory herbal elements. Tannins are smooth after an hour and a half decant.

High alcohol, but enough fruit and acidity to keep it balanced.
