Aiming high but falling short all around. Barnyardy nose, rather angular and overtly woody after an hour decant. Fell apart quickly. Disappointing especially for the $$. Despite the wine, Boulud at Baha Mar fantastic.

Brilliant violet. Pungent, mineral-accented cassis, cherry preserve, floral and pipe tobacco scents pick up a sexy vanilla quality as the wine opens up. Shows impressive depth as well as energy on the palate, offering sweet dark berry, cherry-vanilla and floral pastille flavors that become spicier on the back half. Finishes with excellent clarity and solid dark-fruit thrust, displaying harmonious tannins and lingering floral, vanilla and chewing tobacco notes. Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, half of them new. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2020)

Deep garnet, full bodied offering with currant & plummy fruit on the nose. Decanted for 40 minutes revealing riper fruit forward with currants and dissipating tannins on the palate. This is a well structured wine that is still young and full but will be even better in 3-5 years. Loved it!

Very nice!!!! Had this at Ruth’s Chris for dinner. Blackberry and currant. A bit of earthy mushroom aroma as well. Very smooth. I’d definitely buy a bottle again.

Has a lot of hype, but for a $30 cabernet from this label it really should be better. Lots of oak, spices and dark fruit. Almost smells and tastes more like a syrah. Dark berries. Certainly not bad, but I expected better.
