A nose that is reminiscent of a sunrise at a farm. Wet hay drying. Raspberry, persimmon, borscht, herbs that err to the side of citrus like, medium bodied and bright mouthful of a great vintage, and a well made wine. The oak well integrated, though could use another year or two. A toast to MLK today.

I know that most of you are probably freezing right now, but here, in sunny Florida, it's gorgeous, So I have to take the opportunity, and enjoy it... Beautiful purple in color with medium intensity and a light purplish rim. Nice nose of red berries, blueberries, strawberries, sweet raspberries, earth, forest floor, red candy, graphite, metals, leather, oak, light vanilla, light bell pepper and peppercorn. Medium to full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs. Dry and earthy on the palate with blackberries, cherries, plums, earth, bitter herbs, Pine, toasted oak, leather and peppercorn. Long finish with firm tannins and tart raspberries. This is a very easy drinking CDR. Well-balanced with nice complexity and good acidity with firm tannins. Great right out of the bottle. After an hour in a decanter, it opens up and becomes more complex and interesting, with big tannins . Not one to age, drink it while it's fresh. I paired it with a cheese plate and a gorgeous Florida weather. 14% alcohol by volume.

Perfect plastic cup wine on a Friday night: sage, black juicy fruit, heat balanced. This vintage might be better than past ones.

This might be guilty of style shifting... some extra buttery creaminess is evident... but who's complaining. Rich dark fruit laced with incense.
