Sipping Fine Wine
Disgorged in September 2020, about a 60/40 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Light creamy mousse with tiny bubbles, pale lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple and peach with citrus zest, honeysuckle and slight nuttiness. Lively acidity with good balance, medium+ finish ending with fruit and biscuit notes.

The NV Brut Cuvée Ste.-Anne is one of the best Champagnes readers will find in its price range, or any price range, for that matter. Bright and beautifully focused, the Ste.-Anne has so much to offer. The purity of the flavors is just remarkable. If anything, it needs more time on the cork to soften, as it is quite reticent at this stage. This release is based on 2017, with reserve wines from 2016 and 2015. The blend is 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, with the Chardonnay very much in evidence at this stage. Dosage is 5.15 grams/liter. Disgorged: February, 2020. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2020)

Love this wine/producer. Super clean and focused. Tart apple, slight toast, pear, crushed rocks and amazing acidity to bring it all together.

Nose has pear peel, lemon curd with a hint of vanilla, fresh brioche with drizzled honey and dry sandstone. Palate has yellow apple flesh, chalky-saline mousse, lemon peel and lightly oxidized green apple peel on the medium-long finish. Doing about the same or slightly better than prior disgorgements. Best to chill this bottle and let it warm up to really open the nose. Lot: Ste16CT

Husk cherries, tart golden delicious apples, butter poached pears, brioche, some limestone and chalk and subtle earth. Waves of aroma and wonderfully mature flavors on the palate... so much pleasure. Bottled 2017, disgorged 2019.
