Drank 5/27/19. Excellent pairing with a Ribeye. Nose of black cherry, plumbs, worn leather, coffee bean, and a touch of pepper. Palate with ripe, black cherry jam, red cherry, and earth. Very well balanced, with medium+ well integrated tannins providing structure that can stand up to heartier dishes. Long finish. Very nice. Will age another 5+ years, but great now with an hours decant. 4/22/9/4/4+ 50 =93 pts.

This is a nice Italian red. This Montepulciano is showing red fruits with earth notes, vegetables, tar, wood, pencil lead, peppercorn, leather, tobacco, earth and green vegetables. Dry on the palate and medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Nice finish with round tannins. This 6 year old is enjoyable now, and should be better in 2 to 5 years. Needs 30 minutes to open up properly. A Good quality wine. A blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero. Aged for 2 years in oak barrels and then one year in the bottle. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 86 points. $29.

90% Sangiovese Grosso & 10% Canaiolo Nero. Had my other bottle too young & was so tight & like a walnut. Today with 8 yrs & a decant it’s really starting to show its stuff: Barolo challenging stuffing, all lithe & sinewy roses & tar, softer, but a keeper for around 26$. What a steal. Just have to be patient.

From the Haro-Lumia Tasters Dozen. This was friggin terrific. Terrific cherry backbone. Woodsy, smoky. A long finish. A huge welcome surprise. Only downside was we were social distancing in 40 degree weather so the bottle got cold in a hurry. A WS Top 100.

Medium ruby red- when opened a bit tannic but still tasted good. After more than an hour it really smoothed out, tannins almost disappeared, slight acidity, some minerality/clay, maybe some leather too. Fruits are cherries & plums.
