Sipping Fine Wine
Ruby red color with aromas of red berry fruits, smoke and smoky cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with oak and earthy notes. Long finish, fine tannins, ending with fruit, smoke and espresso notes. Nice!

80% Sangiovese and 20% Canaiolo. Black fruit aromas with hints of bacon and ash. Same black fruit flavors with some leather and earthy notes. Chewy and rich.

Balanced, length , body. Nicely layered. Barnyard, chocolate, graphite, rubber tire. Medium bodied, good acid. Drops off just a bit but decent length. Very nice.

The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva is wonderfully fleshy and expressive, and yet has plenty of structural underpinnings. Dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol, licorice and mocha open up with a bit of air. The balance of fruit depth allied to a mid-weight sense of structure is just compelling. Readers will find a potent, bruising Riserva with tons of character. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2020)

100% Sangiovese, aged for 12 months on oak!! Medium Ruby with aromas of red berry fruits. On the palate the fruit forward wine has flavors of cherry and plums, currant like with slight vanilla notes. Tannins are firm with bright acidity noted. Long finish, overall good value for this Chianti. Went great with a puttanesca pasta (my recipe). Can benefit from short term aging.
