This is a remembrance of Sofia & my trip to Franciacorta & visit to Ca’ del Bosco in 2015. If Italy has a kind of equivalent to Champagne, it would be Franciacorta. This is not Prosecco. It is made in the traditional method. It is a beautiful part of Italy with both Lake Garda’s, one smaller (closer) & one much bigger and is a summer haven. Excuse the fussy pics. I bought a new iPhone 7 just before we left & it had a defective camera. The nose shows fruit blossoms, pineapple, green, apple, golden apple, white peach, tropical melons, vanilla, frothy cream, some caramel, soft volcanics, chalk & spring flowers setting in greens. The palate has nice, soft, mousse. Ripe fruits; fruit blossoms, pineapple, green, apple, golden apple, lemon, lime, white peach, tropical melons & mango. Vanilla, frothy cream, some caramel, soft volcanics, sea spray, saline, chalk & spring flowers setting in greens, beautiful, acidity, well balanced, nicely structured & toned with an elegant finish that last a full minute and lands on volcanics.

Finest mousse. Lightest peach, lemon pith, ripe ginkgo, lime, persimmon, orchid concentrate and tangerine-thyme aromatically. Creamy mousse plays chalky with tangerine and lemon oil across the tongue seductively. Lime zest, lychee, apricot and a pure single drop of ripe lemon juice connects the creamy finish in a lovely way. Really an amazing wine with the complex nuances of a lively tête-à-tête with a stunningly beautiful lady. #CadelBosco #bubbles #franciacorta #Brut #Chardonnay #sparklingwine

Better than many many cheap champagnes. Interesting from start to finish; particularly the herbal and mineral notes and the excellent mousse. Mostly chardonnay with some pinots noir and blanc.

holiday entertaining? consider #Italy's gorgeous answer to #Champagne: rich, apple-y #Franciacorta (Fran-chee-a-korta) from #CadelBoscoUSA with a pitch-black quarry of buttery, perfectly oceanic #CalvisiusCaviar - #caviar #WineWednesday

A brut that despite all its virtues (i.e., high acids and blanc-de-blancs-type notes, lacks so much in the mid-palate that it is hard to score it higher. However, compared to all proseccos, it raises high above. Have yet to try the Annamaria Clementi version though.

Deep gold color. Grapefruit, lemon oil, apricot, brioche and rich lees flavor on the nose. Green apple, grapefruit and a little bit honey component on the palate. Rich, round texture, fresh acidity, slight bitter finish(grapefruit skin). Very nice! Disgorged spring 2016. 12.5% alc.

Tongue numbingly good! Elegant light bubbles that tickle your palette. Complex layered mango, lemon juice, yeast, hazelnuts, and toast all identified with Pierre's new natural smelling kit.

Bottle fermentation. Nice acids. Truly a lovely aperitif. Napoleon's fault for conquering Friscati. But I say that it the most exceptional way.
