Second night with this lovely wine - full of black fruits and leather with a oaky undertone. Much better after decanting given its age.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Strong start, long finish. Full bodied. Acidic, robust tannins.

Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, plum, cherry, blackberry, cocoa powder, spice- like cumin, smoke and forest floor. On the palate, initial flavors of spice, forest floor, florals and cocoa powder. Secondary flavors are fruitier, with blueberry, plum, cherry, vanilla and toasted oak. Long finish with vanilla, florals and berry. Elegant, complex, rich, full bodied and outstanding.

I kept sniffing the empty glass long after the bottle was empty. So much going on: ripe plum, blueberry, cedar, cinnamon, tobacco, white chocolate, incense….. Rich palate without overpowering. Penetrating acidity. And it think the small blend of Merlot is a stroke of genius, giving the body a soft warm dimension. Chewy finely grained tannins. Makes me wonder what Unico would taste like.

On the palate full bodied and rich; the spice and cocoa powder dominate with florals; secondary layers are present with hints of blueberry, plum, cherry, vanilla and toasted oak. Long finish with florals, berry and vanilla. Extremely elegant and complex.
