100% Pinot Noir from Bouzy, aged 6y on the lees. Red apple, pomelo, chalky, slightly smoky, with some brioche and green hazelnut. There’s a touch of red berries, too. And cardamon. Great depth here. And purity! On the palate this is quite powerful, with a nice creamy mouthfeel, tiny & persistent bubbles, fresh, zippy acidity. There’s power here and depth. Very vinous for a champagne, very food friendly. But also quite hedonistic for a 100% Pinot Noir, which can sometimes be too austere. A really, really lovely wine. Very elegant.

NOSE: yogurt, old crystallized honey, graham cracker, rye bread…you really know it’s champagne! TASTE: super bready/graham cracker … green apple, especially the bitter skin. I prefer more citrus, but still quite enjoyable. 92.
