Sipping Fine Wine
Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni, and now managed and owned by Sebastiano Cossia Castiglionii. Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits and slight spicy notes. On the palate Cherry and Cranberry flavors, some cacao, well balanced with acidity and fine tannins. The finish is long ending with earthy minerality. Good now and can age for a few years. Tasting Sample.

Whenever I'm back in London I try to pay a visit to Franco Manca for a dose of heaven manifest as pizza. For all the discernment of ingredients going into each mana-circle, it baffles me that the wines served as so appalling. Therefore I brought my own, discombobulating two waitresses in the process. Try the house wine to lift any confusion as to why I would BMOB. Querciabella's Chianti Classico is a consistent stunner for the price. Good depth and texture, it is a red fruit driven delight that held its own next to Franco's divine pizza.

Passable Chianti, a good value at $20. Nothing special in this 100% Sangiovese version when first tasted. Overrated by Decanter, this wine is Fine but boring and unexceptional. Okay berry nose , dull palette when first opened. Tried on next day, and the wine opened up more. Nose showed more fruit, and the palette was less restrained. Apparently it needs to be decanted for a long time.

Solid Chianti Classico, very austere. 2012 was better though. Richer.

Very enjoyable, maybe the best chianti classico i've had. Might be something to do with the vintage...

A very good chianti classico. Elegant with a bouquet of red currant and sweet cherry aromas with hints of spices.
