Best bottle I've cracked in some time. Even the less savvy wine drinkers at dinner commented on its complexity and ability to pair w food. I did not decant or let it breathe, just pop and pour. Delicious w Olde Salt oysters from the Chesapeake Bay.

I may have to change my opinion of Joly! Everything you want in a Savennieres. Looks like Apple cider, dandelion, honey, wet wool, battery acid and wet rocks. That doesn't sound nearly as amazing as it is!

This is a geeky Savennières. Fennel seed, limestone, nutmeg, and bruised pear on the nose and palate. Succulent and precise! Perhaps some skin extraction adding some gritty bite. This will age well.

I've been told there's bottle variation with Joly, but this one is very lively. Deep beeswax and saline notes.

I liked this 5.5 times more than I thought I would based on looks, smell, and a downright wonky looking cork (because it is bottled in the German Riesling overfilling style). It hits you with pine, resins and pineapple and is somehow dry but full-bodied and (again) resin-y. As it has been getting air over the last hour it is transforming. After 30 minutes I was getting more spices, honeysuckle and I dunno, chrysanthemum? On top of the pineapple loveliness I'm enjoying. Totally digging this biodynamic idiosyncrasy.
