Sipping Fine Wine Delectable Pro

One of OR oldest wine producers, founded by Pat & Joe Campbell in 1974. Name ‘Elk Cove’ derived from Roosevelt Elk which roamed nearby. 1st 100% estate grown fruit, whole-cluster pressed, cool temp fermented in small stainless tanks preserving aromatic freshness of stone fruits and gentle spiciness. On the palate peach, pear and honey flavors with a touch of sweetness. Medium finish, vivid acidity with rich ending. Drinking well now but cellar a bit. Nice value.

Body: Medium Acid: Medium+ Tannin: Medium Typicity: Medium- Flavors of BlackBerry, raspberry coulis, leather, tomato leaf, smoky meat. Good Oregon pinot though it’s a bit ripe/fleshy as compared to most. millennialwinegeek.com

Smooth and tasty. And no cork work involved! You can’t ask for much more than this from the style. Honey and some pear and/or apple, at least. Simple classy label with an elk as the focal point...Win. I will return to the Cove any time the elk will have me.

This Pinot Grigio tasted like apples and was about a 3 on dryness. A wonder of flavors opened up when you hold it in your mouth for about 15 minutes.
